The Party

Thanus, Elven Occultist Arcanist 5. A freelance scholar from the semi-prestigious University of Mt. Doyle in the "old" (or current as some would still say) imperial city Nantes, Thanus seeks to understand the past and the powers that shaped Doomed Sarnath.

Braggor, Dwarven Warpriest 5. He's a dwarf. He's a smith. He came to New Sarnath for reasons not fully explained to the DM, or if they were, they were promptly forgotten.

Vladimir Alexia Strolof, Human Gunslinger 5. In his own words:

"I am Vladimir alexia Strolof. Gunsmith, inventor, and once great mercenary captain and owner of Bloodied Bears! We were contracted by nobles from the north to fight in the growing war, and we had a long and beautiful history of bringing victory to those that hired us no matter the job or the field of battle. We never surrendered and we always came out bloodied and roaring like the great northern bears!"

"But we weren't cheap but what do you expect when you hire a mercenary company with such a long and successful history? But those traitorous northern nobles decided they couldn't afford us anymore and instead of risking our ire they betrayed me and my people!"

"After a long and bloody day of glorious battle that obviously ended in victory, the noble lords who hired us invited us to a night of feasting in our honor for the victories won that day. But of course I accepted. Why would I insult my noble employers with a no, plus my men would be disappointed if I passed up free food and drink that they had earned a hundred times over!"

"Little did we know the treachery to come. All of our food and drink was poisoned and after my men had consumed their fill, the swine set their soldiers and guards on us in our weakened state! All of my people and our animals, cut down in a brutal but honor less slaughter… Such a fate was not befitting of such good soldiers, my soldiers!"

"We didn't go down without a fight, but sadly many, too many, had died from the poisons for us to resist them and we were annihilated. I myself was shot, stabbed and cut in several places before I fell from blood loss, but not before I cursed every last damn northerner to a slow and painful honor less death."

"I passed out from the loss of blood and my wounds to find myself on a cart of bodies being sent to a large funeral pyre. I managed to regain my strength just enough to escape a fate of burning alive. I slowly sneaked my way back to the camp to recover my equipment to find that the northern whore scum were looting the corpses of my men and having their way with our families."

"In my weakened state I could do nothing, again swear once again to have vengeance. I snuck in and took my gear as well as the fine noble steed of one of the northern lords and rode south to lick my wounds. I will rebuild and bring a new and even bloodier war to all who betrayed me and my men! I will do anything to achieve my revenge and rebuild what I lost! Anything!"

With the help of one of his few remaining northern friends, Vlad was smuggled south, beyond the reach of his former noble employers and their wars. Now he resides in New Sarnath, consistently drunk and angry, his body mending but fundamentally weakened, lessened. He may never be the man he was before.

He plots his return and schemes his schemes and ignores the voice in his head that tells him that it is over, that he lost, that all his plans for vengeance are simply pipe dreams.

Luckily, that voice is quite easy to ignore when drowned in alcohol and hatred.

Evening Shadow Reflected On The Water (aka Elmsworth, aka scholar name I don't recall), Human Unchained Monk 5. Details yet to be written up.

Jake?, Human/Aasimar Bard 4. A lost scion of the recently fallen royal line of a Northern kingdom, he fled South to escape his enemies while also hoping that someday he can return to his homeland and right the injustices done to both his house and country. Or so he says. A teller of tall tales and a conman, Jake aspires to nobility through stealing the renown of others, as quite simply, it is easier that way. Formerly served Braggor as a squire and espoused (and exaggerated) his "lord's" deeds, but is currently missing. Supposedly he has found a business opportunity that requires his full attention and he is no longer with the party.

Allies

Hadrian, ranking scholar of the University of Mount Doyle's New Sarnath branch. Funded the party's scavenging efforts in the lower city and is willing to offer further funding should their efforts prove fruitful.

Kira, former leader of the now destroyed Silverstriders, now retired. Has extensive contacts and knowledge of the scavenging crews of the lower city.

Drebin, shady information broker and proprietor of the Blue Lantern, a small drinking establishment that is rarely in the same place for long. Has extensive criminal contacts among both the Southern and Northern organized crime elements in New Sarnath. Was once affiliated with the South, but is now independent and strives to remain neutral in their conflicts.

Acquaintances

Vilius, the unlikable gambler merchant and traveling companion.
