The Enemy of Truth

The great historian Silithius once called history a fickle, contradictory, and many headed beast but also one that must be tamed as it is the only true guide to a brighter dawn.

We, the Seekers of the Dawn, wish to see that brighter day but forces are aligned against our simple quest, the search for truth. Those forces wish to tame history not so it can be used to lead us to a better tomorrow, but rather to corrupt the present for their own selfish ends and lead us into darkness.

In their hubris and folly they wish to destroy the truth, but little do they know. Truth is immortal. Truth is light. Truth is wisdom. Truth is justice. Truth is power.

Those that stand before us are your enemies as well.

They are the ones who steal what is yours in the name of the greater good, a good that does not include you.

They are the ones who knight murderers, rapists, and oath breakers and call them our protectors even as they prey upon us with impunity.

They are the ones who steal your sons for futile wars of pride and your daughters for disposable playthings.

They are the ones who claim to hate the abominable practice of slavery, yet practice it and call it justice.

They are the ones who would conceal and deny the nameless perils that seek our ruin, blinded as they are by their own infallible "truth."

The enemy we speak of is named Ediran and it is led by the one called Meruin.

[The rest of the pamphlet is burned.]
